This form will search our rare books only. To search all books, try the form on the homepage.

If you enter two or more words in this box, the search will look for both words, but not necessarily in the order you enter. Don't worry about upper and lower case. The search ignores words of less than three letters, such as initials like the "H" and "G" in "H. G. Wells".

To look for part of a word, use the wildcard * - for example, lon* will find "London" and "Longfellow". If you want to exclude a word from your search, put a minus sign in front of it: -pirates bucc* will find buccaneers, but not pirates.

This form will search our rare books only. To search all books, try the form on the homepage.

You can make a very specific search using this form: keep your search broad enough to find what you are looking for! If you enter two or more words in the Author, Title, Publisher or Keywords fields we'll look for all of them, though not necessarily in the order you enter them.

Where a book has more than one ISBN we use the British ISBN; and we also tend to use the 10-digit ISBN instead of the 13-digit one.

You don't need to worry about upper and lower case in this search. The search ignores words of less than three letters, such as initials like the "H" and "G" in "H. G. Wells". You can use the wildcard * in this form to look for parts of words - lon* will find "London" and "Longfellow". Inner Circle Illustrated by F N Souza (Signed limited edition with original lithograph)

Macmillan, London
No 27 of 100 copies signed by both Peterkiewicz and Souza on the title-page. The book is housed in a plain black paper covered slip-case. Large 8vo in blue leather backed black paper covered boards, silver lettering to spine, top edge gilt, original lithograph as frontispiece, 185pp with 22 tipped in line illustrations all on thin off-white proof paper. The books text is printed from the same plates as the trade edition, as are the line illustrations, but on larger and better quality paper with wider margins. The frontispiece was hand printed in black ink (there are very noticeable variations between different copies of it) on a standard colour printed London tube map, these maps were probably specially made for Souza as they were not normally available on the type of paper used or with blank versos. The trade edition has a reproduction in b/w of this lithograph.
An extremely well preserved AS NEW copy, in an almost AS NEW slip-case (corner tips are very faintly shelf rubbed)

The Custard Stops At Hatfield (Inscribed copy with autographed letters and memorabilia)

Willow Books, Collins, London
Quarto size (4to) in bright red faux cloth, gilt lettering to spine. 121pp, inscribed in red ink by Everett on the blank verso of the half title leaf 'To my chum Simon (Booker), the dearest sweetest closest sort of friend that money can buy', and with red ink additions by him to the title-page illustration. This book was actually written by Simon Booker, loosely based on conversations with Everett but largely fiction, meaning Everett has inscribed this copy to the books real author. PLUS Postcard from Everett whilst holidaying in St Moritz (signed as 'Edith'). Single leaf typed letter signed with an 'X' above typed 'Edith' and with a PS in silver ink signed 'Ken'. Typed letter signed in full as Kenny Everett, both the latter headed with his Lexham Gardens address in Kensington. All three are to Booker, undated but circa 1980. There are also a few much later items from Everett's family and agent.
The book is in FINE very clean and tight condition, the complete Dust Jacket is slightly tanned and very slightly nicked at the spine ends but otherwise FINE. The loosely inserted material is all in fine condition apart from one letter which has been typed on heat sensitive paper which is moderately faded.

The Studio An Illustrated Magazine of Fine and Applied Art - Volume Three 1894 (Vol 3)

The Studio, London
Large 4to. in publishers' original green cloth covered bevel edged boards, gilt lettering and decoration to spine and front cover, index plus 192pp, numerous illustrations in text, etc. Includes original lithographs, all with the Studio blind embossed stamp as issued, by Anning Bell, Mortimer Menpes, Frank Short, C J Watson and J McNeill Whistler ('Gants de Uede' and 'The Long Gallery, Louvre') Plus xlvii pp 'Editor's Room' at rear and 'Christmas Cards and Their Chief Designers' by Gleeson White, 56pp at far rear (the first of the Studio Special Numbers and by itself quite scarce).
